Meet Psychologist

MICHELLE SKOR

​Michelle Skor is the founder of New Aspects Psychology. She has a wealth of experience working in many psychological settings. She is registered with the Psychology Board of Australia. She is a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPi) and a member of the EMDR Association of Australia (EMDRAA). She works with adults and adolescents. Her areas of experience and interest include trauma, phobias, anxiety, panic disorder, depression, work-related problems, parenting challenges, adjustment to chronic illness, grief and low self-esteem.

Michelle utilises effective psychological treatments which include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Narrative and Solution Focussed Brief Therapy and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR). Michelle has completed introductory and advanced levels of training for EMDR. She has also completed training in EMDR specifically for children and adolescents. 

Michelle first began working in mental health 20 years ago and has been a registered psychologist for the past 17 years. She has worked in a variety of roles, including trauma specific services where she provided assessment and psychological treatment to those impacted by war related trauma. This includes veterans, refugees and asylum seekers.  Michelle has also worked for community mental health, hospital settings, vocational rehabilitation, child protection and has been working in private practice for 8 years. She has also managed and supervised a mental health team and continues to offer supervision services to psychologists and other mental health professionals. She is passionate about working in partnership with clients and creating meaningful change for better psychological health.
